Since the opening of our campsite in 1996, bicycle tourism has been and is one of our best assets.
The cycling tradition in Tierra Estella, where we are located, with numerous cycling clubs, the only professional road race in Navarre, the Gran Premio Miguel Indurain, the numerous mountain bike races, Tierra Estella EPIC, the Caja Rural Cup, etc., and amateur races at our establishment, to undertake the numerous marked routes in our surroundings.
For 13 years we have collaborated in organizing the Berrueza – Camping Acedo mountain bike race, alongside the Correcaminos Cycling Club of Acedo. The year 2019 was the last year to do so due to the pandemic. The race reached 700 participants and was one of the leading races in the northern area. For various reasons it was discontinued, but the trails and routes are perfectly useful for doing them through the different tracks available on the various platforms.
Both our restaurant and our accommodations are benchmarks in the cycling tourism world in the area, as Camping Acedo became a BTT Center homologated by the IMBA in 2019, within the BTT Tierra Estella – Lizarraldea area. This BTT area has 2,500 km of marked and signposted trails, along with another 6 BTT centers that complement it.
As a BTT center, we have a washing area, a bike storage area, an information point, showers, a small mechanical workshop, a bar and restaurant, and a supermarket.
We also have a BTT (mountain bike) rental service, which also includes electric models.
The bicycle washing service is free for all cyclists who visit us.
The shower service costs €1 per person, being free for all customers who use the restaurant or the campsite.
In 2022, the camping sites of Navarra decided to come together as Cycling Tourism Centers, with minimum requirements similar to those of the BTT centers, but at the same time expanding the offer to include road cycling and gravel bikes.
To do this, 9 routes were designed around each campsite: 3 MTB routes, 3 road routes and 3 gravel routes.
Likewise, in collaboration with the Government of Navarra, which funded them, a tool cabinet and a tire inflator were installed in each campsite.
